Turkish Cargo mega cargo facility SMARTIST has strengthen the structure of TK Pharma product which has been designed by Turkish Cargo for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Pharmaceutical and healthcare products are stored in dedicated storage areas with four different temperature ranges at the cargo terminal equipped with high technology. 100 meters distance between parking positions of freighters and Constant Climate Center enable Turkish Cargo to carry out operations faster than before.
Temperature and humidity degree of special cargo rooms are monitored via a telemetry automatic system, and a system in place is capable of sending an automatic message to certified TK Pharma Care Team, who works in the operation 24/7, in case of temperature deviation. Experienced in pharmaceutical cargo shipments for more than 40 years, Turkish Cargo carried more than 55.000 tons of annual pharmaceutical shipments in 2021.
Turkish Cargo provides active containers of Envirotainer, Csafe and Dokasch and passive containers of VaQtech and Skycell upon customers' request in order to maintain the cold chain for highly sensitive pharmaceuticals throughout the supply chain. Single use thermal covers are provided upon customers' request for protection against external environment conditions for pharmaceutical cargoes with sensitivity to temperature. Thermal Dolly provided by Turkish Cargo is an active temperature-controlled dolly used for the transportation of temperature sensitive cargo between temperature-controlled rooms and aircraft on request.
Turkish Cargo successfully carried more than 330 million vaccine doses from vaccine production centers to destinations worldwide for the period of 2021. The carrier transported Covid-19 vaccines all around the world such as Turkey, Rome, Belgrade, Copenhagen, Miami, Sao Paulo and Mexico City. Turkish Cargo proved its capability with vaccines that have different transportation requirements by carrying more than 7 different Covid-19 vaccines in active and passive containers and passive packages.
Turkish Cargo is ready to offer high-end standards for the pharmaceutical shipments with the certificated dedicated operation areas with SMARTIST, the carrier’s new hub at Istanbul Airport. SMARTIST has been equipped with the automation and optimization systems which enable the carrier to improve efficiency in operation. Turkish Cargo also ensure quick ramp transfer with a fast delivery base covering 10.000 m² (650m²/50 ULDs temperature controlled) near to passenger aircraft parking positions.
